A message from Shropham Church PCC
Contributor: David Napier The Parochial Church Council is most grateful to Cynthia Budd for all her hard work to make the church so interesting for those attending the Open Day. The photographs of how the interior looked before Adrian Colman’s remarkable refurbishment also drew considerable comment. Thank you very much to those who attended the Open Day in April for their interest. David Napier
MOTHERING SUNDAY
Contributor: Angela Lynne A very successful and happy service took place in Shropham Church, on March 30th for Mothering Sunday, attended by 25 grown-ups and 12 children. We sang the well-known hymn’s ‘All Things Bright & Beautiful’ and ‘Loving Shepherd of Thy Sheep’ and “There’s a Friend For Little Children’. Two girls, Florence Hills and Amelia Towell, read out prayers and about-to-be-a-mother for the third time, Daisy Thirkettle, read a lesson. All the children came up to collect posies of primroses and scented flowers to give to their mothers and grandmothers in the pews. We hope to hold more occasions like this with village involvement in the future. Thank you to all involved. Angela Lynne
EAST HARLING & KENNINGHALL MEDICAL PRACTICE
Contributor: Rebecca Leech, Assistant Practice Manager It’s been some time since the Surgery provided an update, and this is the first since I took over as Practice Manager earlier last year. Much hard work has been going on behind the scenes and I would like to bring you up to date with what we have achieved. The Practice went through a period of flux, with a number of familiar faces, both clinical and non-clinical, moving to pastures new and this in turn meant we had to utilise locum clinicians to ensure we continued to provide medical services for our patients. Whilst these clinicians plugged the gap, we fully appreciate that continuity of care was lost when having to use locum staff. I am delighted to say we are now back to full staffing levels, having secured the services of two new salaried GP’s, Dr. Staliuniene, working 8 sessions/week and Dr. Kemp who is working 4 sessions/week and GP provision is further supplemented by Dr. Mehrotra, a long-term locum, who is working 6 session
